[00:00:17] Welcome to Tell Me A Ghost Story, the late night call-in podcast where we delve into the world of the supernatural and explore the eerie and unexplained.

[00:00:35] I'm your host, Michelle Newman. This podcast features true stories from our callers that will send shivers down your spine and leave you questioning the existence of the afterlife. So grab a cozy blanket, turn down the lights.

[00:00:58] Hey Michelle, it's me Rock again from Orange County. I have another story to share with you. This happened in Pomona where my grandparents used to own and when they were alive. And I was woken up at least, I want to say, 10 o'clock at night. And I looked over the window, something had told me, you need to look out the window. And it was a gentleman in the phone booth and somebody had just drove by and just shot him straight up.

[00:01:25] I guess there was like a drive by between games and he was caught up in the middle. So my grandparents and my parents saw me go through the window and they noticed that I witnessed it because they witnessed it as well.

[00:01:37] My grandma and my mom grabbed me from the window and they basically were trying to reconcile me because I didn't know really what was going on.

[00:01:45] So things didn't get a lot weirder until a couple nights afterwards to where I was awoken in the middle of the night and I saw a gentleman by the window.

[00:01:59] And I freaked out because I was sleeping at the time with my grandparents in between them. And I woke up in the middle of the night and I told my grandma and they said, grandma, grandma, wake up.

[00:02:09] And my grandma goes, what happened? And I said, there's a man standing out the window. And my grandma was like, what are you talking about?

[00:02:15] And she looks over at the alarm clock. The alarm clock was three o'clock in the morning. And I told my grandma, I was like, I think it's the man from the phone booth.

[00:02:22] And my grandma started getting goosebumps and she's like, you don't know what you're talking about. And that's my grandma. And I said, no, grandma, like what?

[00:02:28] She looks out and my grandma didn't believe in having friends back then in the 90s.

[00:02:35] My grandma looks out the window and she says, my gentleman just poking his hand in the window like as if he's trying to peer to see who's in there.

[00:02:43] So my grandma freaks out. She wakes up my grandpa and tells my grandpa, hey, get up right now. There's a man outside the window.

[00:02:50] So as my grandpa wakes up, he's freaking out because it's like deep slumber. He's snoring.

[00:02:56] And he sprints up and says, what, what? What are you talking about? What man?

[00:03:01] So my grandma and I look at the window and the man is not there anymore. He just disappeared.

[00:03:06] So we were like, what the heck?

[00:03:08] So it kept reoccurring every night at the same time at three in the morning.

[00:03:14] My grandma decided to have my mom make curtains for her because she said she was really uncomfortable with the gentleman poking his head in the window.

[00:03:23] So there was one time where we were playing with all the neighborhood kids and they were renting the rooms of the motel.

[00:03:30] And we used to go by the phone booth.

[00:03:32] And one of the kids was like, oh, you see ghosts.

[00:03:34] Maybe we can go ahead and, you know, go around the phone booth.

[00:03:37] So we would go mess around near the phone booth.

[00:03:39] And the phone started to ring and the kids were like, what the heck?

[00:03:43] And mind you, this was around five o'clock in the afternoon.

[00:03:47] So the kids were looking at me and they're like, did you like, who is that?

[00:03:52] So I told one of the girls, I was like, well, if you don't believe me, go pick up the phone.

[00:03:56] So she went and picked up the phone and she started running.

[00:04:00] And I said, what happened?

[00:04:01] So the other kid picked up the phone that was that she dropped.

[00:04:05] And then he started running crying.

[00:04:07] So I was left alone and I'm like, what is going on?

[00:04:11] So I picked up the phone and the phone was staticky.

[00:04:14] And then it sounded like somebody said, help me.

[00:04:18] And then the call dropped.

[00:04:20] And so I ran in the house and I told my parents.

[00:04:22] So my parents were like, you're not allowed to go to that phone booth.

[00:04:25] And of course, being the ignorant kid that I was and curious as I was, I would go to the phone

[00:04:30] and notice that the phone would ring at the same time, like at five o'clock.

[00:04:36] And then at nighttime, you would hear it exactly at 10 o'clock ringing over and over again.

[00:04:43] So I honestly don't know what happened to the man.

[00:04:46] I don't know if he still lingered there, but the phone booth is no longer there.

[00:04:49] But after the phone booth incident, I kept hearing somebody walking with their boots like outside my window.

[00:04:58] And it would walk around from my grandma's room to her bathroom and then to the office of the motel.

[00:05:04] And so my grandpa had to perform like a ritual to kind of calm and ease the spirit down.

[00:05:11] So this is one of my scary stories that I have to share.

[00:05:15] I also have many more.

[00:05:17] Thanks for your story, Rock.

[00:05:19] I'm glad your grandma got curtains.

[00:05:22] Hey, Michelle, this is Jacob.

[00:05:24] I got one for you.

[00:05:25] So I worked on a show up in Denver, Colorado, I believe.

[00:05:29] And it was an old historic mansion.

[00:05:37] And for the show, we have a host that come in and do a meet and greet with the owners and see what kind of activities they have in the area.

[00:05:47] And then we would go.

[00:05:49] Once they're done, we would come in.

[00:05:51] And the crew would come in and they set up all the cameras in the designated spots that they're going to be focusing on.

[00:05:58] And so they'll do the night investigation, see if they capture anything, and then present their review.

[00:06:04] Once they're done, we come in and we take everything apart.

[00:06:08] And so they did the investigation.

[00:06:11] We had to come in, take everything out.

[00:06:13] And there's like a couple levels to this location.

[00:06:18] And while my team was on the first floor taking everything apart, I decided to go up to the third floor by myself and see if I can get ahead of things.

[00:06:26] And once I got up there, there was a big room in front of me, another room to the right of me, and like a small little office to the left of me.

[00:06:36] So I decided to go in the room to the right.

[00:06:39] And as I go in to take away the camera that we had set up, behind me there is a door that I believe led to either a closet or a shaft or something, but it was crept open and it was dark.

[00:06:51] And I couldn't see inside, but I noticed it.

[00:06:53] While I take away the camera, we had set up a cable, put some paper tape on to keep it in place.

[00:07:01] And so I decided to pull on the cable to detach it.

[00:07:05] And so when you do that, it makes a noise.

[00:07:07] It goes, shh, right?

[00:07:09] And so when I did that, a delayed echo occurred right behind me that really made me jump and just ended up staring at it.

[00:07:19] So I pulled it up, it goes, shh.

[00:07:21] And about a second later, shh, behind me.

[00:07:24] Freaked me out.

[00:07:25] I stayed there for a second, wait to see if it was my team coming up the stairs, and nothing.

[00:07:31] Then I pull up on the cable again, just staring at the door, and it goes, shh.

[00:07:36] And shh.

[00:07:38] Comes right out of that closet door.

[00:07:39] Freaked me out.

[00:07:40] And I was like, nope, nope, nope, nope.

[00:07:42] Puts heel back down and walked out that room.

[00:07:45] As I'm kind of like running down the stairs, my team was coming up and I completely played it off.

[00:07:50] And told me, hey guys, I was just striking everything upstairs.

[00:07:54] Turned around and went into the opposite room and just took everything.

[00:07:57] Out of all the years that I've done ghost hunting shows, by far, that one was the one that impacted me the most.

[00:08:07] Thank you, Jacob, for your story.

[00:08:09] Who knew a ghost mimicking the sound of pulling tape would give me the chills?

[00:08:17] Next message.

[00:08:20] Hey, Michelle, it's Dave Twofold again.

[00:08:22] Growing up, my brothers were 10 and 11 years older than me, and they had a really close friend named Bobby.

[00:08:30] And Bobby passed away in what would have been college age in that car accident.

[00:08:35] And, well, my brother swore, my brother doesn't believe in the paranormal.

[00:08:39] He heard Bobby calling his name the next time he went to work and was alone.

[00:08:44] We grew up in a restaurant.

[00:08:46] We all worked for my father.

[00:08:48] So, a couple years later, I'm washing dishes.

[00:08:50] I'm going up to the storage attic and organizing and bringing down canned goods or pizza boxes or whatever.

[00:08:57] And every so often, I'd be up there working.

[00:09:00] Same place I worked yesterday, no problem.

[00:09:02] And I would just know someone was there watching me, and I couldn't see anyone, and it didn't make any sense.

[00:09:07] But I'd go downstairs and clean something else.

[00:09:09] Can't explain it.

[00:09:10] So, you know, years go by, and it's like not every day.

[00:09:13] It's like every fourth or fifth time up there or only in parts of the attic.

[00:09:18] And it was always a feeling, you know, chicken skin or the hair on the back of the neck kind of thing.

[00:09:23] Anyway, fast forward.

[00:09:26] He closes.

[00:09:27] He reopens.

[00:09:28] Long stories.

[00:09:28] I can't explain it.

[00:09:30] 10, 15 years go by, and we had a paranormal night at the restaurant, actually, which was a complete epic failure.

[00:09:38] We reopened and couldn't get any business.

[00:09:41] But a friend of mine from work brought in this woman I had never met who claimed to be a psychic.

[00:09:45] I'm like, okay, I need to test this because not everyone who claims to be something is something.

[00:09:49] I've met people who claim to be a doctor that never finished high school, so whatever.

[00:09:52] And she said, yeah, we're in a haunted restaurant.

[00:09:54] I was like, okay.

[00:09:56] Bobby's okay.

[00:09:57] He says he's watching you guys.

[00:09:58] He's doing good.

[00:10:00] She didn't say Robert.

[00:10:01] She pulled the name Bobby, of all names, out of the air, and he was doing fine.

[00:10:07] If that doesn't give you the chills.

[00:10:11] Thanks for calling in again, David.

[00:10:14] Keep those stories flowing.

[00:10:17] Next message.

[00:10:19] Hey, this is Artemis from Los Angeles, California, and this is my ghost story.

[00:10:26] So, when I was in my mid-20s, I was living in New York City, and me and my ex-girlfriend were working in the hectically fabulous world of fashion, or adjacent to fashion.

[00:10:42] And we were living together in Brooklyn, and we'd had a really particularly busy month and a half, both of us.

[00:10:50] And we really wanted to do a vacation, but we couldn't really leave the city.

[00:10:55] So, we said, hey, let's do a staycation.

[00:10:59] And my ex kind of took it upon herself to figure out where we were going and where we would be staying.

[00:11:07] And there's a hotel in New York called the Bowery Hotel, which is a really lovely hotel that looks really old, but is actually new.

[00:11:15] They did a great job making it seem old.

[00:11:16] But they have a sister property that is sort of like a townhouse that's affiliated with the Bowery Hotel that you can rent, but it's kind of like you have to know to know to rent it, one of these things.

[00:11:32] And it's the same principle as the hotel, except there's no staff on site.

[00:11:36] You go and check in at the Bowery Hotel, and then you go to this townhouse.

[00:11:41] And it's like really beautiful, and it's kind of like a thing.

[00:11:47] So, she picks that place.

[00:11:48] I'd never really heard of it.

[00:11:50] I didn't do any research on it.

[00:11:51] You know, it's just kind of like let's have an adventure.

[00:11:54] So, we decided to like meet after work in the city, get some drinks, go check in, have a night in the hotel.

[00:12:02] Really, really nice.

[00:12:03] You know, order in food, do the whole nine.

[00:12:06] So, we go for drinks.

[00:12:08] We go to the hotel afterwards to pick up our keys.

[00:12:13] And the bellman who gives us our keys kind of goes, oh, that's a good room.

[00:12:20] With this kind of like weird mischievous vibe.

[00:12:23] And we were like, all right, weird man.

[00:12:27] That's fine.

[00:12:28] We thought it was like he was just being cheeky.

[00:12:31] So, we go to the hotel, and it's really beautiful.

[00:12:33] It's an old Victorian building, and you check in by yourself, and you go in.

[00:12:37] And we were the only people in there that night.

[00:12:39] So, there's only like four rooms, one on each floor of this thing.

[00:12:42] And we were in the top room on the top floor.

[00:12:46] And it is set up like you're in someone's house.

[00:12:48] Like you enter, and it's just a staircase, and a weird little foyer, and really beautiful,

[00:12:52] and art, and yada, yada.

[00:12:54] But we go upstairs.

[00:12:55] We went in.

[00:12:56] We joked, this looks like a haunted house.

[00:12:59] Like it looks like this would be your classic haunted house.

[00:13:02] But, you know, we were in our mid-20s, and it was New York City.

[00:13:05] And like, what is haunting in New York City?

[00:13:06] You step, you know, there's busy.

[00:13:08] There's people outside.

[00:13:09] It's everywhere.

[00:13:09] So, we go in.

[00:13:10] We get into the room.

[00:13:12] We immediately crack a bottle of wine.

[00:13:15] We're enjoying.

[00:13:15] We're exploring the room.

[00:13:17] And it's one of those rooms where it's like they've redone everything, but everything is

[00:13:21] still really old.

[00:13:22] So, it's beautiful, but it's like old.

[00:13:23] Like the faucets are old.

[00:13:25] Those classic ones you got to crank on for like the sink and the shower and the bath.

[00:13:31] And the windows are like beautiful, but you really got to like yank them up.

[00:13:36] And then like they lock in, and then you got to yank them down.

[00:13:39] And, you know, the lights are very like old.

[00:13:43] And the way that they kind of turn on is they like, that's the only thing I can tell you.

[00:13:49] Like the light kind of turns on, you know, in a whoop.

[00:13:52] So, we're there, and we're kind of investigating.

[00:13:54] We're like, this is really beautiful, and this is really cool.

[00:13:58] And we start drinking the wine.

[00:14:04] And it, there's this like kind of like unsettling feeling in the room.

[00:14:10] I don't like really know what it was, but it just kind of had this like lingering thing.

[00:14:15] And we were kind of putting it down to like we were just like exhausted from the month we'd had.

[00:14:20] And we were just kind of like zoning out or whatever.

[00:14:23] But it kind of felt like a little trippy in there.

[00:14:26] Like nothing really was like settled.

[00:14:29] Like it all kind of felt like, I don't know how to say it.

[00:14:31] Like it was like shimmery almost, but like not.

[00:14:34] Everything just kind of had this weird vibe.

[00:14:36] So, we're drinking wine.

[00:14:39] And we're sitting on the edge of the bed talking and just like, oh, this is going to be so nice.

[00:14:45] And my ex goes, yeah, I'm definitely going to like draw a bath in a little bit.

[00:14:51] Because like we don't have a bathtub in our place.

[00:14:54] And like I'm going to have a serious bath.

[00:14:56] And I was like, hell yeah, that sounds great.

[00:14:58] And then she kind of like, we go on to another topic.

[00:15:01] And we're talking about work.

[00:15:03] And I'm like telling her about my day.

[00:15:05] And out of nowhere, the bath turns on.

[00:15:09] This is about five minutes later.

[00:15:11] So, we've already changed into a different topic.

[00:15:13] And I mentioned before like this isn't like a bath.

[00:15:17] Like a modern thing where like, ooh, you bump it.

[00:15:19] And these are like old things you got to crank on.

[00:15:23] And it just like turns on.

[00:15:25] And we both were like from the other room.

[00:15:28] We just sat there like stopped talking.

[00:15:30] And just kind of like looked at each other like,

[00:15:33] Ooh, that's a little weird.

[00:15:37] But we were like, you know, like whatever.

[00:15:40] Like maybe there was a kink in the pipe.

[00:15:42] Like New York places are old.

[00:15:44] Whatever.

[00:15:44] The radiators that creak.

[00:15:46] So, we go in.

[00:15:47] And like sure enough, the water is gushing out of the tub.

[00:15:50] And we're like, oh, cool.

[00:15:52] So, we turn it off.

[00:15:55] And then we go back into the room.

[00:15:57] And we're kind of like, that's weird.

[00:15:59] So, we're sitting or whatever.

[00:16:01] We order our food delivery.

[00:16:04] You know what I mean?

[00:16:04] And we're like drinking more wine.

[00:16:07] And we lose track of time.

[00:16:08] And we're hanging out.

[00:16:09] And then I hear like a noise in the hallway.

[00:16:13] Like outside of the door.

[00:16:15] And I was like, oh, that must be our food.

[00:16:16] So, I go out into the hallway.

[00:16:19] There's no food.

[00:16:20] And I'm like, oh.

[00:16:22] And I kind of like look over the railing down into like the next floors.

[00:16:27] And I, you know when you like, you just miss seeing someone.

[00:16:34] But like I didn't really see them.

[00:16:36] But I know someone was right there.

[00:16:37] I get that feeling like around the corner of the staircase.

[00:16:43] And I was like, okay.

[00:16:45] So, I kind of yell out.

[00:16:47] I was like, hey.

[00:16:48] Didn't mean to disturb you if you're staying here.

[00:16:50] We thought we were the only ones.

[00:16:52] No response.

[00:16:53] But I'm like, I think there's probably someone else checked in.

[00:16:56] You know, it's last minute check-in.

[00:16:57] So, I go back inside.

[00:16:59] And I'm kind of like, okay.

[00:17:01] That was weird.

[00:17:02] But no food yet.

[00:17:03] She like checks the app.

[00:17:04] She's like, oh yeah, it hasn't arrived yet.

[00:17:07] So, we're kind of like, okay.

[00:17:08] Go back to drinking our wine.

[00:17:10] And, you know, we're like, okay.

[00:17:12] It's starting to feel a little like, like a little warm in the room a little bit.

[00:17:17] Like, and it's old school.

[00:17:19] You know, it's like the radiators and whatever.

[00:17:21] So, it's like, we should probably like, you know, open the window.

[00:17:25] So, we're like, great.

[00:17:26] So, we like open the window to get a little air in.

[00:17:28] And again, these are windows you got to crank up.

[00:17:31] So, we pull the window up.

[00:17:33] And we kind of like, it locks in place.

[00:17:36] And we go back to talking.

[00:17:38] And then the food comes.

[00:17:41] And I go downstairs to get the food.

[00:17:44] And I, you know, meet the guy.

[00:17:46] And then I'm coming back up the stairs with the food.

[00:17:51] And I swear, like, my ex was on the landing up above.

[00:17:58] So, like, I registered someone.

[00:17:59] But I had my head down and walked up the stairs.

[00:18:01] So, I started talking to her.

[00:18:03] And I like, hey, like, okay, I'm so excited to eat this.

[00:18:05] Like, I thought she was leaning out, looking and waiting for me.

[00:18:08] And I get to the top of the stairs.

[00:18:11] And she's not there.

[00:18:14] And I'm like, oh.

[00:18:16] And I go to the room and I open it.

[00:18:18] Like, so she's not even, like, at the front of the stair.

[00:18:21] And I was like, hey, did you just, like, come out and, you know, were you?

[00:18:26] And she was like, no, I've been in the bathroom.

[00:18:30] Now, I'm kind of a little more on edge than her.

[00:18:34] And I'm like, okay.

[00:18:36] That was a little weird.

[00:18:37] I'm getting these weird vibes in the hallway.

[00:18:38] And she's like, don't freak me out.

[00:18:39] And I was like, no.

[00:18:40] Like, every time I've gone into the hallway.

[00:18:42] And she's like, someone's probably just, like, staying there.

[00:18:44] You know what I mean?

[00:18:45] Like, someone probably checked in.

[00:18:46] Like, you're just catching the residuals of someone opening their door, closing their door.

[00:18:51] It's like, there's other, it's a hotel, you know?

[00:18:53] And I'm like, yeah, no, this feels, like, way more intense than that.

[00:18:58] So there's a little table that's, like, off to the side where you can, like, a dining room table.

[00:19:04] So we, like, go and we're sitting there and we're, like, sinking back into, oh, this is really nice.

[00:19:08] And we're going to, you know, let's listen to records and, like, hang out tonight.

[00:19:13] Maybe smoke some joints.

[00:19:14] And so we're, like, sitting there and we lay out all the food.

[00:19:18] And we're sitting and we're all just, like, getting really comfortable.

[00:19:22] And she goes, fuck, you know, it's, like, now it's getting a little cold in here.

[00:19:26] Like, you know what I mean?

[00:19:27] The window's been open.

[00:19:28] Let me go and shut the window.

[00:19:30] But we've just sat down.

[00:19:31] And before she can, like, get up and shut the window.

[00:19:34] And it's, like, to her side, it just clanks shut.

[00:19:39] And we both were, like, well, that's very strange.

[00:19:44] And now she's on my level of, like, okay, this is really, really weird.

[00:19:50] We eat our dinner.

[00:19:51] We're, like, okay, let's go, you know, back outside.

[00:19:57] Like, smoke a joint outside.

[00:19:59] Go for a little walk.

[00:20:00] Remind ourselves that we are, in fact, in Manhattan.

[00:20:03] There's millions of people here.

[00:20:04] It's not scary.

[00:20:05] So we go outside.

[00:20:07] We go to the front.

[00:20:08] We smoke a joint.

[00:20:08] We walk around the block.

[00:20:09] Walk off our dinner.

[00:20:11] And we're, like, back to kind of being chill because you see hundreds of people in the streets.

[00:20:15] And it's very chill.

[00:20:16] And there's cars.

[00:20:16] And you're, like, oh, we're not haunted.

[00:20:18] We're in New York City.

[00:20:20] We get back to the house.

[00:20:22] The, you know, hotel house thing.

[00:20:24] And we go inside.

[00:20:26] And she's ahead of me.

[00:20:27] And she opens the door.

[00:20:30] And I hear her go, oh, hey, like, you know, up the stairs.

[00:20:36] And I was, like, oh, good.

[00:20:37] She's, like, met the person that has been, you know, I've been freaked out by.

[00:20:42] So I'm shutting the door.

[00:20:43] And then I go to come up.

[00:20:45] And she's just, like, frozen there.

[00:20:47] And I was, like, what happened?

[00:20:50] And she was, like, I just swear someone had been there.

[00:20:54] And I just missed them.

[00:20:56] So I yelled after them.

[00:20:58] But then I turned my head.

[00:20:59] And there was no one in the hallway.

[00:21:02] And I was, like, cool.

[00:21:06] Great.

[00:21:06] So now we're right.

[00:21:07] It's, like, it's, like, going in the place.

[00:21:08] And, like, the sound dampens.

[00:21:10] And then now we're back in the haunted house again.

[00:21:12] And it was just, like, cool.

[00:21:13] We go back upstairs.

[00:21:14] We're, like, trying to enjoy ourselves.

[00:21:17] She's, like, I'm going to go have that bath.

[00:21:19] I'm going to, you know, I'm, like, great.

[00:21:20] I'll, like, sit in the bathroom and read while you're in the bath.

[00:21:25] It'll be very cute.

[00:21:26] So she goes and draws the bath.

[00:21:28] And we're in the bathroom.

[00:21:30] Both of us.

[00:21:31] She's in the bath.

[00:21:32] I'm sitting, like, next to the bath reading.

[00:21:34] We got candles.

[00:21:34] It's very cute.

[00:21:38] And I hear in the hallway someone, like, running down the hallway behind the bathroom.

[00:21:47] Just a very distinct noise of feet.

[00:21:50] And I was, like, and we both hear it.

[00:21:53] And we just keep talking.

[00:21:55] And then I hear it come back down the hallway from the opposite direction.

[00:22:02] And I go outside again.

[00:22:04] And I'm, like, there's no one in the hallways.

[00:22:07] And I'm, like, now I'm holding on to, like, sanity.

[00:22:10] I'm, like, no, no.

[00:22:11] Like, someone has checked in.

[00:22:14] You're not.

[00:22:16] You haven't seen this person.

[00:22:18] They're just going about their night.

[00:22:20] Get a hold of yourself.

[00:22:22] But now I'm a little wrecked.

[00:22:23] We're both wrecked.

[00:22:24] She gets out of the tub.

[00:22:26] We go to get into bed.

[00:22:28] And we're in bed.

[00:22:30] And all the lights are on.

[00:22:32] And it's one of those things where you have to go and click all the lights off.

[00:22:36] It's not a master switch.

[00:22:37] You got to go around and click the different lights off.

[00:22:40] And we're, like, okay, let's go click the lights off.

[00:22:42] And I stand up and go to the one side of the room to click the lights off.

[00:22:48] And as I'm turning that side, like, the entryway lights off, I literally hit those ones.

[00:22:54] And then the lights on the other side of the room go off.

[00:22:59] And me and her are, like, nope.

[00:23:01] And we ended up leaving the hotel room and going home.

[00:23:07] We didn't even spend the night in the hotel.

[00:23:09] And the next morning, we kind of woke up laughing.

[00:23:14] Like, I can't believe we just spent this money on this and then didn't stay.

[00:23:19] Like, what was wrong with us?

[00:23:21] Like, we were so...

[00:23:23] So, I call the hotel.

[00:23:25] And I was like, hey, we left early.

[00:23:28] Totally our fault.

[00:23:29] Nothing was really wrong with the room.

[00:23:31] We were just kind of feeling a little off.

[00:23:34] So sorry about that.

[00:23:35] But, like, here's me checking out from my apartment in Brooklyn.

[00:23:40] You know?

[00:23:40] Like, weird.

[00:23:41] Sorry.

[00:23:41] And he was like, oh, no, that's totally fine.

[00:23:45] Totally that's, you know, we'll love to have you guys back sometime.

[00:23:48] And I was like, yeah.

[00:23:50] And, like, apologize to whoever else was staying there.

[00:23:54] Because I, you know, I think I, like, yelled out for them a few times.

[00:23:59] And I don't want to disturb them.

[00:24:01] Like, I just was, like, was checking in to see if someone would come in.

[00:24:04] And there's this, like, long pause.

[00:24:06] And the guy goes, there was no one staying in that.

[00:24:09] You guys were the only ones there last night.

[00:24:16] Thank you, Artemis, for calling in.

[00:24:20] Here's a short epilogue to that story.

[00:24:23] It turns out that it had been an orphanage a million years ago.

[00:24:28] Okay?

[00:24:29] So that's terrifying.

[00:24:30] Like, it was like a nunnery orphanage thing.

[00:24:33] And then in our room, when it became a hotel, the first, it was like, before it was, like, officially a hotel, it was like a, you can rent floors of this short stay.

[00:24:46] And these two really famous artists overdosed in our room.

[00:24:51] And it had been set up differently, but they had a crazy night in, like, 1999 or 2003 or something and died.

[00:25:01] One in the bathtub, not even kidding.

[00:25:05] And one in the living room area.
