[00:00:06] So I look up and I see a group of men tapping on the glass just outside of the bay windows within our living room. And they were absolutely translucent.

[00:00:27] Welcome to Tell Me A Ghost Story, the late night call-in podcast where we delve into the world of the supernatural and explore the eerie and unexplained.

[00:00:39] I'm your host, Michelle Newman. This podcast features true stories from our callers that will send shivers down your spine and leave you questioning the existence of the afterlife. So grab a cozy blanket, turn down the lights.

[00:00:59] Hey Michelle, it's Brittany. I have a ghost story. So I was woken up from a pretty terrible dream. I had, I was at the top of my bunk bed, crawled out of my bunk bed in anticipation to go up to my parents' room. The problem is we had to cross through down a long hall and a living room in order to get to the base of the staircase that led to my parents' suite upstairs.

[00:01:30] And I began kind of walking down the hallway and stopped at our front door. And just as I was about to enter into the living room, I felt, I felt like I was being watched. So I look up and I see a group of men tapping on the glass just outside of the bay windows within our living room. And they were absolutely translucent.

[00:02:01] I couldn't tell at first if it was just like my imagination kind of building. But I looked up again and it was just like, it was so clear that they were not human. Like there were, there were people, but they were translucent men. And they were all peering in with their hands pressed against their cheeks, looking into the living room, staring at me.

[00:02:25] It was a group of four men pressed against the window and one man that was kind of like straggling along in the back, pushing his bike. It was just like such an odd coupling of people, but clearly not there. Like I could tell that they were ghosts. Like, but it was the tapping kind of like up against the window. Like, hey, like they knew they were speaking to me.

[00:02:55] It wasn't a general knock, you know. And I immediately fall to my knees because my knees and feet had begun to like feel like sandbags. Like just so, so heavy in my body. So I fell to my knees and began to crawl again across the living room floor. And I could see them in the corner of my eye peeking at me and tapping on the window.

[00:03:23] And as I finally got to the base of the stairs of my parents' stairway, I charged up the stairs. And we looked out the bedroom window and found nobody there. There's nobody in the driveway, nobody for a long way. And there's no way that they could have escaped without being seen at some point. Thank you, Brittany.

[00:03:52] And I'll be closing my curtains from now on. Oh, hey, Michelle. This is Jimmy. And I got a little story for you. I've been working in paranormal on paranormal TV shows for the last three to five years. And I've definitely seen some stuff out there. I'm not necessarily a believer myself, but I'm a skeptic. But I have seen a few things and experienced a few things. And I will tell you my favorite story.

[00:04:21] This was maybe my second episode on my first paranormal show. And we were in Chicago at a haunted tattoo shop. Now, usually before our psychic comes in and does everything, we need to make sure everything's completely blacked out, power shut off and all that. And my producer that I worked with had this issue where he'd always end up locking keys in a van. So right before our psychic showed up, he locked the keys in the van.

[00:04:49] So we were scrambling to try to get into the van. So I went looking for something to maybe wedge the door to get in. So I went down to the basement of this old tattoo shop. And while I was down there, I had just my small flashlight. The lights are completely out. I'm looking through stuff, looking for a hammer, anything that I could wedge. And all of a sudden, my coworker came down and he came by me and kind of said, hey, let me go in there.

[00:05:18] So I backed up out of the way. And when I backed up, I felt like I literally stepped on somebody's toes. Like if somebody was standing directly behind you, say you're at a concert and you're in the pit, you're standing and you back up and all of a sudden you just stepped on somebody's toes. Where I felt myself go up, that I stepped on somebody's toes and then somebody pushed me in my back. And to the point where I went, whoa, what was that? So then he turned to me and goes, what? And I was like, oh, nothing.

[00:05:47] And I turned my flashlight around to see if there was maybe a pipe or something I backed into maybe or anything like that. And I couldn't see anything. So for a second, I was like, OK, that was really strange. And then all of a sudden on the radio, I hear them. Hey, we got to the van. So I just kind of brushed it off. I was like, oh, that's nothing. So then I went upstairs and I went out to the van and continued my work while the sidekick went through. And I was sitting there thinking, I was like, what just happened down there?

[00:06:17] I was like, I definitely got pushed. I felt something in my back. Like somebody was like, get off my feet and kind of pushed me away. And then come to find out when the psychic swept through there that the stairwell going down to where the basement was, was this like supernatural highway, basically. That kind of where all these people were going through. So I don't know if I conjured up something like that, but being down there and just kind of in their space.

[00:06:46] But that was probably one of the only times that I was like, wait a minute, what just happened? Thank you, Jimmy, for your story. Weird fact. If you Google haunted tattoo parlor, you get 3.1 million results with shops from all over the country. I'm not quite sure what's going on, but it certainly makes me think twice about getting a tattoo. Hi, Michelle. This is Yamari again.

[00:07:16] I have like a hiking story. When I was 20, I went through like this really nasty breakup. Moved cross country to live with the love of my life. I had to move back because it didn't work out. When I got home, I moved in with a friend, but obviously wanted my family around. And my mom and my sister are huge hikers. So we went to hike, you know, just to get our heads cleared.

[00:07:45] And for some reason, feel like we need to do something big to get over, you know, heartbreak. So we hiked for a good like six to seven hours in our local area. There's trails. You can do easy, moderate or hard. And we did the hard and we made it out to the lookout. So we, I think it was like four hours up one way and four hours out. But we went there like super early in the morning before the sun even came up.

[00:08:16] So, you know, we're having a good time talking, enjoying the views. You know, I felt really better after the whole breakup and everything and just spending time with my family. We spent too much time on the outlook. So we saw like the sun was going down. It was a sunset was beautiful, but we had to like get going. So we were going. We took the easy trail back. When we were going back, we were, my mom was like, oh, imagine if something happened.

[00:08:45] You know, we are in the mountains and we're all like, stop, you don't say stuff like that. And we heard drums. We heard drums, like banging. And we were like, do you hear that? Like we were laughing and then we're like, do you hear that? And we were all like, we wanted to acknowledge it. But at the same time, we're like, why? Drums? Like, mind you, we had to drive all the way up to this place.

[00:09:15] Like there's nothing for miles. And, you know, like we wouldn't hear it super strong, but we heard it light enough to know that it was in the distance. So my mom was like, well, maybe, you know, someone else is having like a redemption moment. And, you know, they want to play the drums as the sun goes down. So we're trying to validate it. We keep going on our way out. It got kind of dark where we kind of couldn't see the trail anymore. We had like flashlights and stuff. And the drums got louder.

[00:09:47] So we were like, well, that's weird. But like, again, we acknowledged it, but we just kept going. Like later that night, because we got home late, we went to like McDonald's. We ate. We came back home. And I researched the trail we were on, the mountain that we were on. A website came up and it actually brought up like a myth about since we were like on Indian ground. The mountain was named after an Indian tribe of the area.

[00:10:16] There about a woman who at the tip of the top of the outlet was murdered, killed. She, I think it was, I believe her husband went up there with her and a brawl happened. And because she was with her husband, they killed her as well and her husband.

[00:10:41] So the legend goes is that she plays the drum to try to find her husband. Like this was a makeshift website. Like it really looked like something some student made out of like as a school project. But a lot of websites do have the myth of the woman. But instead, like they have the drum.

[00:11:05] But most of the websites say that if you stay out long enough on the outlook all the way at the tipy top, you will see her floating around looking for her lost husband that was murdered. Thank you for your story, Amari. I don't know what's more scary. The thought of it being paranormal? Or stumbling across a group of random people drumming in the woods at night?

[00:11:36] I was on a road trip with my high school boyfriend. We'd stopped at a Best Western in Fresno, California. It's still there, by the way. That night when I was drifting off to sleep, I was laying on my back and I opened my eyes just a little bit. And right in front of my face, nose to nose, I saw a man hovering over me. And then in a split second, he was gone. I jumped in the bed.

[00:12:04] You know when you fall in a dream and you shake the whole bed? My high school boyfriend was like, are you okay? And I was like, oh yeah. I thought I just saw a person hovering over me and just laughed it off. I mean, it must have been a dream. It was just weirdly intense. Then he said, I thought I just saw a person hovering over me. And then we both just sat there in silence for a few minutes. And then I got up and turned on the bathroom light.

[00:12:33] And we slept with that light on the rest of the night. Hello, my name is Alana and I am from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. So I have this story from when I was 16. I am now 36. I went to go visit my biological mom who was living in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. So I took the Greyhound. It took me about two days to get there from Edmonton, Alberta to La Ronge.

[00:13:01] I get there and I get there. It's a nice little white house. It's just a main floor and a basement. All right. Look in the backyard. It has like a chain-length fence. And on the other side of it is like a little forest of trees. And it's pretty big, like big when you're small. And it was just like, you know, a space between houses and stuff. So I ended up liking it there. I was like, all right.

[00:13:31] I was like, it's a nice little house. Anyways, so one day I was sitting downstairs. Middle of summer. It was super hot. Didn't think nothing of it. This ball comes rolling out very slowly. So I'm like, okay. All right.

[00:13:56] I didn't think nothing of it because, you know, like no one was like, I wasn't really creeped out about stuff, you know. I don't know. A couple days go by. I was sitting on the couch with a member down there. And I'm watching something on the TV. On the left side of my peripherals, I see someone kind of slouching down and trying to sneak by me ever so slightly.

[00:14:25] So I'm thinking, boom. This is my brother's. Because I had, it was my sister, my mom, and my two little brothers that lived there and their stepdad. It was not my stepdad, but their stepdad. Anywho. So I'm like, waiting for them to like pop out and scare me. I just kind of figured it was my little brothers because, you know, we'd always pop out and scare each other in time we could. So I'm like sitting there and no one comes. I'm like bracing like any second they're going to go rah.

[00:14:54] But nothing happened. So I get up and I just go look, right? And I'm like looking around and now no one's down here. So I call up to my sister and I'm like, Allie. And she's like, Yeah. I'm like, Calvin and Matthew here? And she's like, No, they're outside. And oh my god, I got the chills.

[00:15:22] I was so scared. Like, you know when you have that fight or flight? I just couldn't even move at all. Like, I was so scared. I took everything and me just to go upstairs because it was just creeping out so bad. But anyway, so I go upstairs and one night I am just like, I go to bed. And all of a sudden I wake up and there's this little boy leaning over me. And he's like, Hey, why do you cry on some rushing night?

[00:15:54] And the reason why I was crying is because I was lonely, but no one ever seen me. So, but this little boy, like little dark brown hair, brown eyes, he was just staring at me. And I started getting, I started crying, like, and I was so scared, but I could not move. But I was like, I could hear my sister beside me. Like, she was sleeping. I could hear her snoring. I ended up closing my eyes and I was like, Go away. You're not real.

[00:16:24] You're not real. Go away. And I could move again. And my sister, like, she nudged me and I was just crying. And it took me a while to console me because I was actually really scared. Anyways, the next day, my mom and my sister sit me down. And she was telling me that years and years ago in the same house, there used to be a family that lived there that had a little boy.

[00:16:52] And there were these bad neighbor kids that two of them, they took, they took him and they took him to the back of that little forest I was telling you guys about and trees. And they tortured and they killed him. And if you search it in La Ranch, Saskatchewan on Sinat Crescent, the exact same house, that's where he stayed. And you'll, you can read about it in the paper. It was really sad. They did really bad things to him. And yeah, he was like around six or seven. He was exactly the boy that I seen.

[00:17:24] Yeah, I've just always had weird stuff happen to me like that. I guess when people say you're gifted, you know, when you can see things like that. But for a while, I was always scared to sleep because once that happened, it's like it opened up something to another time is when I was around 17 or 17 or 18. And I'm laying in my bed in my house. I go back.

[00:17:53] I'm living in Edmonton again and just laying there. And my cookum, which is grandma in Cree because I'm Native American or indigenous, she had passed away probably when I was around. 12, 11, 13, I can't remember. Teenager-ish. Anyways, I'm laying in the room one day and I wasn't feeling good. So I'm just laying there on my side.

[00:18:20] I could see my mom on the phone, laying on my side looking out of my bedroom. I could see her on the phone. And she's talking. All of a sudden, it happens again. I realize, oh shoot, I can't move again. The room goes just, the room just goes like lighter and brighter. And all of a sudden, I put my eyes downward to the end of my bed and I had a rocking chair in my room.

[00:18:47] And in the rocking chair in my room was my cookum sitting there and her flowery dresses she used to wear in two braids. Parted on each side.

[00:19:26] I look at her. And as she comes, she gets up and she starts walking towards me. And I feel like warmth on my shoulder where she touches me with her hand. And I close my eyes and I'm just praying to wake up, like to be able to move again. It wasn't a dream. I was fully awake when it's happened. Like I wasn't half asleep.

[00:19:47] And all of a sudden, like I just, as soon as I could move again, the room just went like, you know, back to being like just how it normally was. It wasn't like all bright and goldy. It was just normal. And I went and told my mom and I was crying. I was like, mom was like, cookum was just here. She sat in that chair right there. She was looking at me. Oh my God, I got the chills right now. Anyways, I was like, she's not here. She came in. Well, she said something in Cree. Oh yeah, that's right. She said something in Cree. And I don't know. I don't speak Cree.

[00:20:17] But that's how she spoke. She spoke very little English. So I'm like super scared telling my mom this. And she starts crying. And I'm just like, you know, it was a scary thing to happen. Like I have a bunch more stories too. Some of them are really sad. Some of them are really weird. And yeah, I'll send you in some more if you guys like. Anyways, thank you. Thank you for your story, Alana.
