Hey, it's Michelle Newman, and this week's three calls range from tender to genuinely chilling.
Kelly from Australia calls in with a story about her grandad, who passed away 13 years ago. For years she'd asked family members about his silver St. Christopher necklace, one she used to play with sitting on his knee as a child, and nobody could account for where it had gone. After a recent visit home spent asking again, and after spotting the necklace clearly in an old photograph of her grandad, Kelly's grandmother handed her a wrapped gift on Christmas morning containing the exact necklace and a note saying her grandad would be proud to see her wearing it. Her grandmother had no idea Kelly had ever wanted it; she'd simply had a dream telling her to give it to her.
Cindy Ketron from Avon, Indiana calls in with a story from a 1976 family trip to California, the same trip that brought her family face to face with the ghost of Marilyn Monroe walking the beach. Near the Hollywood sign at dusk, her family watched a shrouded figure in period clothing approach them, and where her face should have been, there was nothing at all. What they encountered matches the well-documented sightings of Peg Entwistle, an actress who died by suicide by jumping from the Hollywood sign's letter H in the 1930s, unaware a movie role was waiting for her the very next day. Witnesses have reported her presence to joggers, hikers, and park rangers ever since, often accompanied by the scent of gardenia perfume, her signature fragrance in life.
Layne Pavoggi, a YouTube filmmaker, calls in with a story from filming California on Ghosts, a project he made with fellow creator Kassem G. While ghost hunting at a haunted hotel in Volcano, California with psychic medium Maria Lagana-Sales, Layne and his crew captured what appears to be a live possession on camera, Maria going silent, shaking, and transforming for a stretch of roughly 45 minutes before purging afterward. Hours later, driving home, Layne received a call from Robert, a former roommate and father figure he hadn't spoken to in fifteen years, who explained he'd had an urgent, vivid dream the night before of a dark-haired woman trying to grab hold of Layne, one he felt compelled to protect him from. The description matched Maria almost exactly.
